What are some of your career highlights so far?
My career highlights include providing vendor due diligence services for significant transactions such as the sale of Evolution Healthcare to QIC, the sale of Obex Medical to Bunzl, and the partial sell-down of Energy Fiji Limited to the Fiji National Provident Fund.
Outside of my day to day work, my career highlights have centered around coaching and mentoring members of my team. I get a lot of satisfaction out of seeing the team engaged in their work, mastering new skills, and experiencing a sense of belonging within the team.
What do you like most about your job/industry?
My favourite part of my job is working with driven and engaging people, including my team and clients. I enjoy the academic challenge that comes with working with people with different views and experience, and how this broadens my perspective and technical knowledge.
I also really appreciate the variety in my work, as I’ve worked on projects in a wide range of industries from healthcare, to software, and honey. I enjoy understanding the nuances and underlying drivers of each sector, and also drawing parallels between what may seem like very different industries!
What are your interests outside work?
Outside of work I enjoy baking, looking after my fruit / vegetable garden, and going to concerts (the most recent one I attended was Ed Sheeran).
Can you recommend some good reading and/or viewing?
I found the Netflix series ‘MADOFF: The Monster of Wall Street’ really interesting as it touched on the psychology of fraud. It’s fascinating to understand the motivations behind peoples’ behaviour.
Make a prediction for 2028
I predict that in 2028 we will be using AI as an everyday tool to help make our jobs more efficient, like how we currently use a calculator or Excel.
