What are some of your career highlights so far?
Spending almost 25 years as a broker analyst there has rarely been a dull moment and it’s been a privilege. The highlight for me has been working closely with and meeting many interesting people and hopefully adding value along the way.
What do you like most about your job/industry?
Working in a 100% NZ owned business with a strong 80+ year heritage and working closely with clients, colleagues and company management is rewarding. It is a fun industry, especially if investing is a hobby.
What are your interests outside work?
Playing and watching most sports, travel, reading and investing.
Make a prediction for 2023
Given the long period of positive returns we have had for markets, I would expect there to have been a major correction by 2023, which will be challenging for some who have only seen a bull market. No matter what the market conditions and what technological changes there are, there will always be a role for well-considered investment research. Personally, hopefully more time to be doing some of the things mentioned above.
